This is a carefully held journey into deep, ancestral healing work with master plant medicines and lineage-informed ceremonial guidance. The experience is rooted in traditions that have been passed down through generations, honoring the intelligence of the plants and the wisdom of those who have worked with them in sacred ways. Rather than a resort or a program, Narai is a living, guided process — one that unfolds slowly and intentionally. Each guest is met with presence, care, and respect, allowing space for what is ready to be seen, released, or remembered. Every element of the retreat is designed to support this process: from preparatory conversations and integration support, to grounding practices such as yoga, breathwork, sound healing. The environment is intentionally quiet and supportive, allowing the nervous system to soften and the inner work to deepen. Participation is never automatic. Each journey begins with a personal conversation, along with medical and psychological screening, ensuring that there is clarity, readiness, and mutual agreement that this path is appropriate and supportive for the individual. At its core, Narai is an invitation — to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with what has always been there beneath the noise.

The Medicine

Ancient plant medicine, held in the way the lineages have asked it to be held.

Lineage plant medicine — leaves and breath
Read about the medicine

The plants we work with have been honored for centuries within indigenous traditions of the Amazon and other ancestral regions where this wisdom has been carefully preserved. They are approached with deep respect — as living teachers that invite reflection, awareness, and inner understanding rather than something to consume casually or recreationally.

In the right setting, and with sincere intention, these traditions offer a space for profound inner exploration. Many people describe meeting parts of themselves that have long been quieted by life — emotions, memories, patterns, and insights that begin to surface with clarity and compassion.

Our facilitators are trained within established ceremonial lineages, having spent years learning through direct apprenticeship and lived practice. The work is guided with consistency, care, and respect for the traditional frameworks it comes from. The intention is to hold a steady and grounded environment where each person can safely turn inward.

The ceremonial process itself is held with simplicity and reverence. Preparation, guidance, and integration are all treated as essential parts of the journey, supporting each guest before, during, and after their experience so the process can unfold in a meaningful and supported way.

Details of the specific ceremonial structure and approach are shared privately during the intake process, once there is mutual understanding, readiness, and alignment. This ensures that every guest is met individually, with clarity and care, and that the path is appropriate for where they are in their journey.

Specifics are shared privately, never publicly.

The offerings · By private consultation

One medicine,
held with care.

Read how this is held

This part of the work is held with discretion and care, as a quieter layer of the overall journey that exists beyond what is publicly shared. It is not presented as a program or package, but as a deeply considered offering that unfolds only when there is clear alignment, trust, and readiness.

These experiences are held within established frameworks with experienced practitioners. Narai has built long-standing relationships grounded in integrity, experience, and a shared respect for traditional plant medicine practices.

There is no assumption, no pressure, and no predetermined path. Each person's journey is considered individually, with great attention given to their wellbeing, background, and intentions.

In this way, what is held here remains intentional, contained, and respectful — supporting those who are called to deeper work, while maintaining clear boundaries and care at every stage.

Voices from the circle

What guests have
quietly told us.

Shared with permission. Names withheld — discretion is part of the form.

I came carrying something I had not been able to put down for years. By the third night, it was simply no longer mine to carry. Nothing was forced; everything was met.
Guest · Netherlands · Spring 2025
What I did not expect was the quiet. The space between sessions held me as much as the ceremonies themselves. I left rested in a way I have not been in a decade.
Guest · United Kingdom · Autumn 2024
The care before and after the week was as serious as the week itself. I felt prepared, held, and then gently returned to my life — not dropped back into it.

The arc of the work

Three movements,
held as one.

See the three movements
01 · Before

Prepare

Four to six weeks of honest preparation before you arrive. Medical and psychological intake, dietary guidance, contemplative practice, and a private call with the team so you arrive already in relationship with the work.

02 · During

Hold

A small group, a private room, and a ceremonial space held with care. Days move between sacred work, deep rest, herbal bodywork, garden food, sound, breath, and silence. There is no agenda imposed from the outside — the rhythm meets you where you are.

03 · After

Integrate

What opens in ceremony only becomes medicine through integration. You leave with a practitioner relationship, an integration call schedule, and continued support for the weeks and months that follow. This is the part most retreats skip. We do not.

The temple

A circle held by
candlelight & sound.

Step into the ceremonial space

At the center of the land, the ceremonial space opens as a place of quiet presence and natural beauty. An open-walled pavilion of teak and thatch rests gently within the surrounding gardens, where tropical plants move with the breeze and the rhythm of the island sets a calm pace. During the day, the space holds simplicity — time for stillness, grounding practices, reflection, and quiet connection with nature. It is a place where nothing is rushed, and where silence itself feels supportive. As evening arrives, the atmosphere softens and the space transforms. Low cushions are arranged in a circle, inviting a shared sense of presence and equality. A central altar is carefully prepared with flowers, natural elements, brass bowls, and candlelight. The air carries subtle notes of incense, sage, palo santo, and sound, creating an environment that feels both grounded and sacred. Here, the ceremonial space is not separate from the land — it is part of it. A living, breathing environment designed to support presence, openness, and inner listening.

The stay

A private villa, held in quiet comfort and simplicity.

Read about the villa

Tucked away within the gardens, each villa offers a peaceful space to rest and return to yourself. Designed with ease in mind, it is private, understated, and gently held — a place where nothing is required of you except to slow down and breathe.

Natural light moves through the space during the day, and in the evening the atmosphere softens into stillness. A comfortable bed, open air surroundings, and the subtle sounds of nature create an environment that supports deep rest and restoration after each day's journey.

This is not a hotel room, but a quiet sanctuary within the retreat — a space to integrate, reflect, and simply be. Every detail is prepared with care, and shared privately once your path into the retreat is confirmed and aligned.

Daily rhythm · practices

Sound therapy,
sacred ceremony,
and the body, daily.

Around the ceremonial heart of the retreat, the days are filled with practices that hold the body and nervous system — sound, breath, movement, herbal care, and slow garden food. These are not extras. They are part of how the work is held.

01Daily

Sound therapy

Bowls, gong, voice.

Daily sound sessions held by trained practitioners — Tibetan and crystal bowls, gong, and voice. The body is tuned the way the lineages have always done it, opening the field before deeper work and helping it settle afterwards.

02Daily

Sacred ceremonies

Held, never performed.

Evening ceremonial work led by experienced facilitators in the lineage of ancient traditions. These are not performances. They are quiet, careful rituals designed to open, release, and witness what is asking to be felt.

03Daily

Guided transformation sessions

One-to-one, daily.

A daily one-to-one with an experienced practitioner, tailored to your retreat and to what is moving for you that day. The thread that holds the whole arc together.

04Daily

Yoga & meditation

Morning flow, sunset sit.

Two practices a day — a slow morning flow and a sunset meditation, held in the garden shala. Movement to inhabit the body again, stillness to listen to what it has to say.

05Daily

Breathwork

Somatic, careful, held.

Guided breath sessions woven through the week to support release, integration, and the nervous system. Always held — never pushed.

06Daily

Traditional Thai bodywork

Herbal steam, hands, oil.

Thai massage, herbal compresses, and steam in the traditional way. The body is part of the work, not separate from it.

07Daily

Garden kitchen

Slow, plant-forward, intentional.

Garden-led meals cooked with the work in mind — light, clean, deeply nourishing.

08Daily

Integration

After is part of the work.

A personal integration guide on departure, scheduled calls in the weeks that follow, and a long-form practitioner relationship that does not end at the gate.

This may be
for you if…

The right guest tends to recognise themselves quickly. If most of these feel true, write to us — there is a good chance there is a fit.

  • You are ready, not curiousYou have sat with the decision for a while. This is not your first contact with the work, or you have done quiet preparation on your own.
  • You want depth, not displayA small circle, discretion, and real time to feel what surfaces matter more to you than a programme to post about.
  • You can give yourself a full weekSix nights with us and five days of program, plus the days of preparation before and the integration weeks after. You are willing to clear the space.
  • You meet honestly with yourselfYou can name what is heavy, can be guided, and are willing to let practitioners hold the frame around you.

This is not

We say no often. Saying no honestly is part of how this work is held safely. The retreat is probably not for you if you recognise yourself in any of these:

See who this is not for
  • Anyone looking for a wellness holiday or an agenda-led programme
  • Active or unstable mental-health conditions without medical clearance
  • Guests on SSRIs, lithium, or certain other medications (case-by-case)
